Monday, April 13th

Good morning!

I hope this email finds you safe and healthy. In accordance with the digital learning guidelines provided by the Cobb County School District, the On Level Biology Team at Lassiter would like to communicate our plans regarding grading for the remainder of the school year. It is our hope and desire that all students will continue to digitally engage and learn as they are able during this unprecedented time, but we understand that not all student situations are the same. With this is mind, no grades will be entered that will lower a student’s grade beyond what they had earned in the classroom as of March 13th. Below is the modification in the syllabus for On Level Biology as a result of this digital learning time period.

All Biology teachers will continue to communicate weekly digital learning opportunities through their classroom blogs and other communication tools. Please continue to check for updated information and, as always, reach out to your student’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns.

Kindest regards,

The Lassiter High School On Level Biology Department

A couple of key things:

1) Your grade can not go lower then what you see in the grade book.

2) You can pick and choose what assignments you would like to do. The more you do the better your grade will be.

3) You can turn your lapbook project in and take the Eukaryotic Test if you would like.

4. If you do not do an assignment the grade book will just show a blank, if your grade on the assignment lowers your overall grade it will go in as a blank as well.

Eukaryotic Kingdom Unit

1) If you want to turn your lapbook in you can do that through instagram! I know most of you started to follow my account @donaldsonbio for the Germ Choice Board assignment. All you will need to do is film your project and tell me what you did.

2) If you do not have instagram you can film it and email it to me.

3) If that does not work please reach out to me and we will discuss other options. Since your lapbook was supposed to be due a couple of weeks ago you will need to submit it to me by Friday, April 17th.

4) The Eukaryotic Kingdom Unit Test will Thursday, April 16th. This test will be completed through google forms and you will need an email to sign in.

5) Again you can choose to turn your lapbook project in and take the test. If you choose not to, no grade will be entered.

Evolution Unit

The only grade that you will have to this unit will be the test! I will assign work for you to do that will help you on the test, the work that you are assigned will not be graded (it will be very beneficial for the test).

USA Test Prep:

After the evolution unit we will move to USA Test Prep, here you will work on assignments that review the entire year. Each week you will get a new section, each section will be graded.

USA Test prep assignments will be assigned Monday and will be due the Friday of the same week!

Final Exam:

We will give a final exam that will cover the entire years material. Your comprehension notebook is key!!!!
